    The voting round for the annual Sneakergala is open and this year some SBU’ers got nominated! Anne Bastiaansen, who by sorting out the finances is saving SBU, and Sanne Horeman, who is steering this ship are both nominated for Best Board Member! Daan Vianen, who for years now has been leading D1 to victory, has been nominated for Best Coach! Both H1 and D1 are nominated for Best Sports Team of the year. Last but not least, Nijs Hartman has been nominated for best Olympos or sportcafé employee of the year!

    Next Season

     

    We will continue normal practice until the 28th of May. Then, after MIT, we will have a much-needed break from basketball… but only for one week!

    The second and third week of June, we will start the selections for H1/2 and D1/2. The other teams will have open practices. This means that all teams will have practices, which will be open to non-SBU members interested in joining next season.

    If you are interested in becoming a coach next season, let us know by July 1st!

    Also next season we are bringing back the TC (Technical Committee). This committee is meant to be there as a guide for coaches by organising clinics for them, and help the development of the technical skills across all teams. If you'd like to be part of the TC, please reach out to the us!

     

    News from Other Organisations

     

    GymRace: GymRace is looking for volunteers to help them out on May 10th and 11th. In return they will offer you a ticket for either Gymrace or Mudmaster and Gymrace will donate 25 euros to SBU for your help!

    Delft International Tournemant: Want to pack the month of May full with basketball fun? The weekend before MIT, IT will take place in Delft.

    Trajanum tournament: If two full weekends of basketball sound like too much, the one-day Trajanum Tournament in Nijmegen may be more your pace. On Saturday, May 24th, everything will be themed Seventies Slam!

    Utrecht survival run: Dont think that MIT will slow you down? Prove it by running 6, 9, or 13 km through a challenging obstacle course the day after MIT, on Sunday, June 1st.

    Cusit: For the very last time, Cusit will be held in Edegem! Be sure not this very special edition from July 11th to 13th. Check out their instagram for more information.

    • Saturday at 17:00: H1 will play their final game to win the championship!
    • May 2nd: Get out your classy cocktail wear, as we turn Bunnik into the place to be for the gala! Be sure to sign up before April 29th!
    • May 15th : The Auccie is organising The Big Club Action. Every team needs to provide at least two services for the auction. Submit your service today! And mark the 15th of May on your calendar - we will see you in café Fokus!
    • May 29th to June 1st: MIT is already right around the corner! Make sure to sign up your team by May 2nd. We can’t wait to see your costumes, the sky is the liMIT! You can find the form to sign up on their Instagram @sbu_mit

    • To Bart and Nijs (H1) :  are organising a basketball clinic for an external group!
    • The entire team of Ladies 1 : They won their championship!
    • To the Auccie : this committee was brought to life only a couple months ago and already they have organised a very fun activity to help the association!
